SAHIWAL, Jan 23: A woman was gunned down while her daughter and son were injured by two brothers in Chak 101/9-L here on Eid day over a marriage dispute.

Reports said Muhammad Yaseen asked Miran Bibi to marry her daughter Sameena with his brother Zafar Iqbal. The woman refused to do so on which Yaseen and Zafar became annoyed. Both the brothers later opened fire killing Miran Bibi on the spot and injuring Parvez and Sameena.

In Arazi Shahamand village, Saleem, Yaseen and Abdul Wahab attacked the house of their opponents and opened fire to avenge the murder of their father. As a result, Iqbal and his sister Shagufta were seriously injured and admitted to the DHQ hospital.

ACCIDENT: Two friends died on Sunday when their bike skidded off the Sahiwal-Faisalabad Road. Reports said Muhammad Yusaf and his friend Irfan of Tandlianwala were going to Noorshah on their motorcycle (FDA-4131) to see their friends. Near Chak 44/GD, the motorcycle fell into a ditch. Both died on the spot.

LOOTED: Robbers took away two cars, cash and valuables in three hits here on the Eid night. Rao Mushtaq parked his car (Karachi-U-7171) outside his house from where it was taken away.

A car (Karachi-R-5438) was lifted from the main gate of Muhammad Azam in Chak 86/6-R.

In Canal View Colony, robbers entered the house of Muhammad Irfan and decamped with cash and ornaments worth Rs100,000. Farid Town and Grain market police have registered the cases separately under Sections 381-A, 395 of the PPC.
