SUKKUR, Jan 24: District Nazim Syed Nasir Hussain Shah held a meeting at his office with education officers of the district for selection of teachers for the Best Teachers Award.
An official statement issued here on Monday said 10 teachers would be selected from various cadres for the award.
The nazim directed the EDO, education, to ensure conduct of refresher courses in primary schools. The second meeting to re-examine the teachers' selection would be held on Jan 25 and 26 at the DCO's office.
RECRUITMENT: The Pakistan Navy Recruitment and Selection Centre, Sukkur, has announced the results of entrance examinations held on Jan 16. An official press note issued on Monday said the qualifying candidates had been advised to report at the selection centre on Jan 28 and 29 for interviews.
EYE CAMP: The directorate of the Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, Sukkur, on Monday announced to organize a free surgery eye camp at the Kandhkot Model High School, Jacobabad, from Feb 8 to 11.
SHOT DEAD: A man was killed over some matrimonial dispute in the Allah Dino Bhand village, Ranipur police station jurisdiction, on Sunday evening. Nadeem Bhand, 25, was sitting at a hotel when a group of people shot him dead.
Ajeeb Bhand, a brother of the deceased, lodged a case against eight people, including Dhangano, Mir, Wazir Ali and Adam Lashkar. Meanwhile, 70-year-old Haji Dawood was shot dead by some people in a godown in Sindh Colony near Moro on Sunday night.
