SUKKUR: Registration for PAF courses

SUKKUR, February 15: Registration of commissioned cadets for General Duty Pilot and Engineering courses will be held at the Pakistan Air Force Information and Selection Centre here from February 16 to March 4.

This was announced by the commanding officer of the PAF centre here on Tuesday. According to the announcement, unmarried candidates having the qualification of FSc (pre-engineering/pre-medical/computer science) with 50 per cent marks and aged between 16 to 22 years on October 15, 2005, are eligible for the GDP course. For the engineering course, they should have studied chemistry.

The candidates should bring original certificates and marks sheets of Matric and Intermediate with two sets of their attested photo state copies, National Identity Card or 'B' Form and four copies of attested passport size photographs to the centre.

DCO: Shafiq Ahmed Khoso has taken the charge of the office of the district coordination officer, Sukkur, replacing Abdul Qadir Mangi who has been transferred to Karachi, according to an official press release issued on Tuesday.

CAMPS: First aid camps have been planned at different places in Sukkur and Rohri during the Aashura by the Civil Defence department and volunteers have been directed to report at the camps to streamline arrangements for Muharram 9 and 10.

According to an official press release, the camp-1 has been established on Muharram 5 near Jinnat Building, Shahi Bazaar Old Sukkur. The camp-2 will be set up at Bhitai Chowk, Shahi Bazaar Rohri, on Muharram 9, and the camp-3 and 4 at the slopes of Masoom Shah Minara Road, Sukkur, in front of the Utility Store and the Government Primary Boys School on Muharram 10.

Besides, mobile first aid parties have been formulated to accompany mourning processions and administer first aid to injured mourners on the spot.
