DADU: Six excise officials suspended

DADU, Feb 15: Six district excise officials were suspended on Tuesday for collecting illegal tax and torturing drivers on the Indus Highway.

On directives of Sindh excise secretary Subhan Memon, the director, excise, Hyderabad, suspended Dadu assistant excise and taxation officer Nazar Mohammad Siyal, head constable Ayub Memon and constables Ali Hassan, Imamuddin, Imdad and Mubeen.

PRISONERS SHIFTED: As many as 150 prisoners of the Dadu district jail were shifted to the new district jail on Tuesday under tight security. The jail superintendent told journalists that the remaining prisoners would be shifted to the new jail within 24 hours.

MEETING: DCO Alam Din Bullo has directed officials of Khairpur Nathan Shah, Johi and Mehar taluka administrations to ensure cleanliness of streets and roads till Muharram 10.

Speaking at a meeting of officials and Ulema at his office on Tuesday, the DCO asked health officials to provide medical facilities to people participating in mourning processions.
