GUJRANWALA, Feb 27: Robbers struck four times on Sunday in the city and its suburbs, looting cash and valuables worth over a million, besides taking away a motorcycle from a grocer.
As many as four outlaws stormed into the house of Dr Shamshad Ali in Tetley village by scaling its boundary wall. They held hostage the inmates, locking them in a room, and fled away after collecting Rs230,000 in cash, besides jewellry, electronic goods and other valuables.
In another incident, four bandits entered the house of a trader, Rehan Aziz, in Model Town after thrashing a guard. They locked the inmates in a room, and escaped along with Rs100,000 in cash, besides gold ornament worth Rs300,000 and valuables.
Four dacoits looted Rs65,000, jewellry weighing 27 tolas, and other valuables from the house of Dr Muhammad Saleem, son-in-law of journalist Muhammad Sarwer, in Irfat Colony, and fled. Meanwhile, a grocer, Muhammad Akram Butt, was deprived of Rs5,000, besides his motorcycle at gunpoint on Kamoki-Tetley road by two bandits.
