Musharraf to meet EAB members

KARACHI, May 29: President Pervez Musharraf will meet the members of the Economic Advisory Board on Saturday (June 1) after the 10th meeting of the Economic Advisory Board scheduled to be held on the same date.

Industrialists and businessmen would draw the attention of the President towards the private sector role and the problems being faced by them in respect of getting easy finance for the industrialization of the country.

President, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Iftikhar Ali Malik, would highlight the problem regarding reduction in the private sector lending by the banks and difficulties being faced by the banks and financial institutions in achieving the finance for businessmen so that those irritants may be resolved in the better interest of the country, says a press release.

The FPCCI chief has also convened a meeting on Thursday (May 30) at the Federation House to discuss the above matters. State Bank Governor Dr Ishrat Hussain and presidents and senior executives of banks and financial institutions would also attend the meeting.
