HYDERABAD, March 2: The DCO has formed a district coordination committee for civil defence to prepare a strategy to meet any disaster in the district.

DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed was presiding over a meeting regarding civil defence at the Shahbaz Hall here on Tuesday.

The committee will be headed by the district defence controller with the deputy controller of civil defence as the secretary and the EDO, community development department, and the chairman, Hilal-i-Ahmer, as its members.

The DCO directed the committee to prepare a district action plan to meet any eventuality in the district. He said the management of the civil defence and the Hilal-i-Ahmer had to formulate a strategy and to implement it also.

He also directed the committee to prepare a directory having telephone numbers, addresses, availability of equipment, transport and other information about conducting rescue operation in case of any disaster. He said material required for rescue operation should be made available and functional to avoid any confusion during rescue operations.
