PESHAWAR, March 8: The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing of the state's appeal against the acquittal of 10- people charged with the murder of Tehrik Nifaz Fiqh-i-Jaffria chief Allama Arif Hussain Al Hussaini.

A PHC bench comprising Justice Shahjehan Khan Yousafzai and Justice Fazalur Rehman Khan decided to adjourn the hearing case Justice Rehman, as district and sessions judge, had delivered the judgment, which has been challenged.

The bench observed that as one of its members had been the trial judge, the case would be fixed before another bench. Allama Arif Hussain was killed on Aug 5, 1988.

The accused are: former senator Hashim Khan, Majid Raza Gillani, Ghalib Raza Gillani, Badiuz Zaman, Syed Ghulam Hussain, Sajid, Ramzan, Sher Gul, Jamilullah and Faqir Gul. The district and sessions judge had acquitted the accused on July 31, 1993.
