GUJRANWALA, March 8: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) seized 53 passports and 128 identity cards besides, other documents and arrested two agents during a raid outside the Gujrat passport office on Monday.

Reports said FIA deputy-director Mr Shahid received information that a gang of passport agents were fleecing people on the pretext of sending them abroad. He constituted a raiding party, headed by SI Ahmad Naeem, which seized passports, identity cards, other documents and arrested Muhammad Yar and Muhammad Razzaq.

A case has been registered. FIA director Chaudhry Tanvir Ahmad appreciated the performance of the raiding party.

CHALLAN TICKET: The National Highway and Motorway Police on Tuesday claimed to have issued 32,763 challan tickets to vehicle owners on charge of violation of traffic laws and recovered Rs.8.18 million fine from them in February.

This was stated by ASP (headquarters) Ahmad Nasir Aziz at a briefing to the NH&MP (Kharian to Shahdara) sector incharge SSP Sardar Saeed Gul Khan. He said around 11,105 passengers of commuter buses and wagons including women and children were provided drinking water and first-aid facilities on the GT Road.

SHOT DEAD: A landlord was shot dead by his relatives over a matrimonial issue at Rahwali on Tuesday. According to reports, Iftikhar was standing outside his house when Javed and Tahir opened fire on him. They escaped after killing him on the spot.
