HYDERABAD: Charter of demands

HYDERABAD, March 24: The Sindh Agriculture University Teachers Association has submitted an 18-point charter of demands to the vice-chancellor of the university.

At a meeting with vice-chancellor Dr Bashir Shaikh, the president of the association, Mr Ghulam Rasool Mari, and general secretary Ali Ahmed Lakho demanded that a ban on promotion of teachers should be lifted, move-over cases should be disposed of without delay, vacant posts of teachers should be filled and alleged misappropriation in the Z.A. Bhutto Agriculture College Dokri should be investigated.

The other demands included increase in medical allowance, computer and internet facilities for teachers, payment of telephone allowance with salaries, ambulance facilities, grant of technical allowance to teachers of engineering faculty and PhD allowance for PhD teachers.

The vice-chancellor is reported to have assured that the genuine demands of the university teachers will be approved.
