KUALA LUMPUR, March 31: Pakistan on Thursday qualified for the final when they thrashed Germany 5-0 in Six-Nation junior invitational tournament at national hockey stadium.
Pakistan had a sluggish start but the Germans were simply no match for them once they found their rhythm.
Pakistan, who edged India 3-2 on Wednesday, opened accounts when their penalty corner specialist Imran Warsi found the net in the 28th minute.
Imran Warsi added another goal four minutes later, also through a penalty corner conversion.
In the second half, Pakistan who dominated the entire match slotted in the third goal through Kashif Yaqoob who he struck the ball home off a melee in the 50th minute.
Barely one minute later, Asif Rana sounded the board for Pakistan’s fourth goal. Ishtiaq completed the scoring in the closing minutes of the match.
The Germans were restricted to occasional forays but never threatened the Pakistani goal.
