LAHORE, April 7: Sixteen players in four age groups qualified for the main round of the national junior squash championship after winning their matches at the PSA complex on Thursday.

Seeded players Yasir Sarwar, Muhammad Naveed, Farzan Rasheed and Zahir Shah advanced into the main round of the Under-19 commencing from Friday.

Naveed was involved in the longest match of the day before overcoming Muhammad Waseem in a five set match which lasted 52 minutes as rest of the players in the under-19 sailed through straight set victories.

Under-15: Sheikh Saqib bt Wahid Khan bt 9-5,9-3,9-0, Aurangzeb Khan bt Shahin Zaman 9-5,9-2,9-3, Haroon Samad bt Khalil Mehmood 9-7,9-6,9-7, Jahanzeb Khan bt Nosheran 9-3,3-9,9-2,4-9,9-4.
