HYDERABAD, April 9: Celebrations of the Sindh University founder’s week started in Jamshoro and Hyderabad on Saturday to pay homage to founder vice-chancellor of the Sindh University Allama I.I. Kazi.
The events were inaugurated by eminent scholar and former vice-chancellor Prof (Dr) N.A. Baloch by planting a sapling at the Jamshoro campus.
The ceremony was organized by plantation and beautification section of the university.
A large number of deans of the faculties, members of the senate, academic council, heads of teaching institutes and departments, sectional heads of administrative sections, retired faculty members, employees, boy and girl students participated in the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Baloch said the week’s celebrations would be focused to highlight the services of Allama I.I.Kazi in the cause of education.
He said the university teachers, students and employees must follow in footprints of Allama Sahib.
Vice-chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui said the youth must be grateful to Allama I.I.Kazi for the establishment of Sindh University.
The Institute of Biochemistry of the university arranged a solo exhibition of handicrafts developed by Sumera Iqbal, student of BS Hons part-III at the Allama I.I.Kazi library of the university.
Prof Asif Ali Kazi, dean faculty of natural sciences inaugurated exhibition while a large number of senior faculty members and students of Institute of Biochemistry and other disciplines attended the exhibition.
All the faculty members and students visiting exhibition appreciated the handicrafts of the student.
