HYDERABAD, April 12: Following theft of a number of conductors on Sunday night, the supply of electricity for the grid stations of Nooriabad-Kalo Kohar, Thano Bula Khan and Essa cement factory has been affected. According to Hesco authorities, it will take around 48 hours to restore supply to the affected areas. The transmission lines of Old Jamshoro and Kalo Kohar had tripped at midnight on Saturday.

During patrolling by the company staff, it was found that conductors had been cut near Looni Kot causing damage to cross-arms.

The authorities said that thieves had stolen around 1,200 feet of conductors damaged six poles.

They said due to theft of conductors and the damage to poles, the power supply from Nooriabad, Kalo Kohar, Thano Bula Khan and Essa Cement Factory grid stations had been seriously affected.

Hesco officials said there was no alternative source to provide power to the affected areas and the rehabilitation work could take about two days.

All senior officers, including Hesco chief Adeebul Hassan Rizvi, visited the place and were said to be supervising repair work.
