ISLAMABAD, April 12: Pakistan and Azerbaijan on Tuesday agreed to explore the potential in the fields of trade, agriculture, pharmaceutical, surgical equipment, sports goods and tourism for strengthening bilateral relations. This was agreed during a call on the visiting Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev by National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain.

The president appreciated the quality of Pakistani products and expressed the desire to import Pakistani products. He said the National Airline of Azerbaijan was considering commencing its flights to Pakistan shortly.

He said a visa regime would be introduced to facilitate the business communities and tourists of the two countries.

The meeting stressed the need for exchanging parliamentary delegations aimed at strengthening parliamentary relations between the two countries.

The president invited the speaker to visit Azerbaijan which was reciprocated by Mr Hussain who extended invitation to his Azerbaijani counterpart to visit Pakistan with a parliamentary delegation.
