MARDAN, Jan 10: The chairman of the NWFP Assembly standing committee on works and services, Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel, has directed the Frontier Highway Authority to expedite the pace of work on Mardan-Takhtbhai-Dargai road , so that people are relieved of the difficulties in travelling.

He issued these instructions while inspecting various sections of the road on Wednesday.

MNA Maulana Qasim, MPAs Shad Mohammad Khan, Qalandar Khan Lodhi, Fareed Khan, Maulana Israrul Haq Haqqani, Maulana Tajul Amin Jabal and Mian Nader Shah and Mardan DCO Sayed Orakzai were among those present on the occasion.

FHA Managing Director Habib Ali and Director Ajmal Shah briefed the members of the committee about the progress of work on the project.

The committee members directed the FHA high-ups to speed up work on building the road to facilitate people's travel.

The construction firm executing Mardan-Takhtbhai section of the road assured the committee members that work on the section would be completed by Jan 30, while the firm constructing Takhtbhai-Dargai section said it would be completed by Feb 15.
