KHAIRPUR, Jan 24: Some eight highwaymen looted a Jacobabad- bound coach coming from Karachi near Kot Diji on the National Highway on Saturday.

The armed men intercepted the coach (LGO-3790) and held the passengers hostage at gunpoint. They deprived them of jewellery, cash, clothes and other valuables.

The Kot Diji police arrested three suspected highwaymen in Sanhro village and identified them as Zaheer Rind, Riaz Rind and Dodo Jagirani.

BAIL GRANTED: The civil judge Gambat granted bail to 17 members of the consultative council on Saturday.

They were lodged at the Gambat police station and released after the bail.

The consultative council leader Latif Shaikh told the newsmen after their release that talks would be held with the Taluka Nazim in presence of the Muslim League (Functional) members on Friday.

The CC members were arrested two days back on the charges of observing a strike against Taluka Nazim Gambat.
