BAHAWALPUR, Feb 21: The inventory of the articles, broken furniture, sofa sets and picture frames lying in the Sadiqgarh palace is being prepared.

This was informed by Ahmedpur East Deputy District Officer (revenue) Ghazi Amanullah Khan to the sub-committee, which visited the palace to review the progress in the task.

The committee at its meeting took stock of the situation of the palace and arrangements for the auction of the left-over articles at the palace.

The sub-committee chairman, Abdul Ghafoor Bhatti, directed the revenue officials to complete the task within the shortest possible time so that a date could be fixed for the auction of the furniture and other articles.

The committee also visited some of the buildings and inspected the material dumped over there.

During the inspection of the basement, this correspondent, who accompanied the sub-committee, observed that there was also a tunnel beneath the Sadigarh palace, which led to other adjacent buildings called the Mubarak Manzil and Sadiq Manzil.

The basement had an excellent air-conditioning system and its rooms seemed to be ransacked.
