THATTA, April 2: The office-bearers of the Shah Murad Sugar Mills Mehnatkash Union (CBA) have condemned the attitude of the mill management with the workers and called upon the district administration to intervene in the matter for the redressal of their grievances.

An emergency meeting of the union was held here on Thursday which was presided over by Sufi Malook, president of the union, and participated among others by vice chairman Saleem Khatri, general secretary Soomar Jalalani and deputy general secretary Abbas Magsi.

The meeting took strong exception to the ban on the entry of deputy general secretary Abbas Magsi in the mill, imposed by the management despite of a stay order granted by the NIRC.

The meeting was apprised of the tactics adopted by the management. The meeting requested the DCO and the DPO to intervene in the matter and resolve their grievances before the situation gets worse.

PROCESSION: A group of councillors took out a procession here on Thursday in protest against delay in issuance of notification on the payment of honorarium to them.

The protesters included women councillors and those from Karachi and were led by Sindh Councillors Association president Matloob Hassan.
