SIALKOT, April 2: Civil Lines police registered separate cases against 38 sacked constables for not depositing uniforms and luggage, including iron boxes and charpoys, to police godowns.

Sources said that around 112 constables of the Sialkot police were dismissed on various charges, but they did not return their uniforms and other official luggage.

Taking a serious note, Sialkot ASP Umer Farooq Bhatti issued notices to all the dismissed constables. Consequently, around 74 of them returned their official uniforms while the rest took no notice. As of now, the police could not arrest any accused.

The ASP told newsmen that police were conducting raids to arrest the accused constables.

SNATCHED: Seven armed bandits snatched a car, mobile phones, cash and other valuables on Thursday night from a trader and his family near Aadha village in Motra, Daska tehsil.

Saeed along with his family was going to Sialkot from Daska by his car when armed robbers stopped the vehicle on the main Daska-Motra-Sialkot Road. Armed robbers snatched the vehicle, cash, valuables and fled. Motra police have registered a case.

On the order of Sialkot additional SP, the Civil Lines police have registered separate cases against Sialkot police's past dismissed from service 38 police constables for not returning back police department's official kits luggage, official uniforms, iron boxes and charpais to Sialkot police godowns after their dismissal from police services.
