HYDERABAD, May 22: Sindh Jamaat-i-Islami Amir Dr Mumtaz Memon has said that the Sindh affairs are being run through a remote control from Islamabad as its chief minister is very weak. This he said at a news conference at the press club here on Saturday.

He said that Sindh was deprived of its water share due to callous policies of the federal government and now the situation had reached such a stage that the people were being supplied poisonous water for drinking.

Mr Memon said that the irony was that authorities had not been able to decide whether the WASA or the irrigation department was responsible for supplying contaminated water to the people.

He said that Sindh was the only province where the governor was not neutral as he belongs to a particular party and the chief minister was weak as he headed a minority government.

The JI leader said that an artificial majority had been created in Sindh and that was the reason that ministers were playing havoc with the affairs of province.

He alleged that on May 12 in Karachi the MQM won the election not through ballot but through bullet.

He maintained that as the MQM had lost elections in Karachi therefore it resorted to bullets and even tried to take away a dead body of an MMA worker.

Dr Memon said that the MQM had hijacked Sindh as the entire province was being controlled by 24 ministers and advisers of this party while the chief minister was totally helpless.
