HYDERABAD, June 19: Joint monitoring teams of officers of the Sindh Text Book Board and the Sindh education department would be formed to oversee proper distribution of free textbooks by the district government among primary students of the province.

This was stated by STBB chairman Professor Anwaar Ahmedzai while presiding over a meeting of education EDOs of Sindh held at the Committee Room of the board here on Thursday.

The meeting resolved that the books comprising 51 titles would be made available by June 30 to the EDOs for distribution while the education department would be requested to open primary schools for two days in the first week of July for the purpose.

It was, however, made clear to the EDOs that it would be difficult for the board to deliver the books unless they cleared the dues for their respective districts as publishers would be reluctant to release the books otherwise.

The meeting decided that each district would depute and/or appoint a focal person to coordinate between the board, the education department and the district government.
