RAWALPINDI, July 3: Two persons, including a woman, were killed in Banni and Jatli areas, police said on Saturday. Mohammad Riaz, who was wounded in a brawl among a group of five heroin addicts near Jamia Masjid Road , died after reaching the District Headquarters hospital on Friday night, police said.

Waqas Naveed told the Banni police that some heroin addicts were quarrelling near Qadeemi Mardan Hotel when one of them picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Riaz wounding him critically. The injured was taken to the DHQ hospital where he died.

In another incident, Mahfooz Begum was shot dead allegedly by her father in Jatli police area. Police said the accused, Abdul Rehman, murdered his daughter and escaped.

Meanwhile, burglars broke into the house of Khalid Mehmood in Sadiqabad and took away prize bonds valuing Rs46,000, gold jewellery worth Rs170,000 and other goods.

Mohammad Nisar's motorbike (RIX-3028) was stolen from Waris Khan area, while Saifur Rehman's pickup (IDS-1834) was lifted from R.A. Bazaar.
