ISLAMABAD, July 3: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has greeted President Bush on the United States' Independence Day falling on Sunday.

In his message, the president said: "Excellency, on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan, I have the pleasure of conveying to you our warmest greetings and felicitations on the occasion of the Independence Day of the US.

"It is a matter of great satisfaction that the relations between our two countries are growing from strength to strength. Our close cooperation has positively contributed to peace and stability in our region and in the global war against terrorism.

"We deeply appreciate America's commitment to a long-term multifaceted relationship with Pakistan and look forward to even greater cooperation in diverse fields in the years ahead.

"I take this opportunity to convey my very best wishes for your health and happiness and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of the United States of America.

"Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration."-APP
