KHAIRPUR, July 17: A detained accused, Malook Sarki, nominated in seven murder cases, escaped from the Ranipur police station lockup on Friday night.

On Saturday morning, a sweeper came there and found that the accused was not present in the lockup.

However, till the filing of this report, neither any case was registered nor any action taken against the Ranipur police station staff.

STRIKE: Sanitary staff of the Taluka Municipal Administration continued their strike here on the second consecutive day on Saturday against non-payment of their salaries of June.

As a result, heaps of garbage can be seen on main roads and in bazaars whereas drain water has accumulated on the roads.

The sanitary workers set up a protest camp at Phool Bagh.

FIR: A man, Ghulam Hyder Lashari, lodged a case with the Faiz Ganj police on Saturday against 12 accused on the charge of attacking and injuring him over a land dispute.
