SAHIWAL, July 24: Grain market police registered on Saturday a case against an ASI, two constables and a man acting as their informer for killing a salesman and robbing him of sale proceeds.

On June 15 Sada Husain Shah, a salesman of a company, and his friend Nasir Ahmad, were going by a motorcycle. They were checked at the bypass post by Assistant Sub-Inspector Riaz Minhas and constables Rajab Ali and Muhammad Siddique.

During the checking the accused policemen found that Sada Husain was carrying Rs387,000 which he had collected from various shops. The ASI, constables and Nasir killed Sada Husain in a fake police encounter.

Police refused to register a case when the brother of Sada Husain contacted them.

He filed a writ petition on which the sessions judge ordered the registration of a case. However, no arrest has so far been made.

ENCOUNTER: Gamber police on Friday night killed an alleged robber and arrested his accomplice after an encounter while three others fled from the scene.

Police claimed that a passenger bus (LXK-5500) was going to Multan from Lahore. Five bandits boarded the bus from Okara. When the bus reached Gamber police check post, the police asked the passengers to get down for physical search.

They claimed that the robbers opened fire on police which was retaliated. One of the robbers, Nasir Ali, a resident of Sukheki, was killed on the spot while his accomplice Mirza Zhoaib suffered bullet injuries. He was arrested and taken to hospital.

Yusafwala police have registered a case.

The absconding robbers have not yet been arrested.
