SUKKUR, June 2: Sizzling heat claimed four lives in Rohri and Mirpur Mathelo while dozen others fainted and were taken to hospitals during the last 24 hours ending on Sunday evening.

A hot day was observed in interior Sindh where the temperature reached 48 degree Centigrade.

Two heroin addicts, whose identity could not be ascertained, and a young man, Arbab Ali, died in Rohri.

The Edhi workers buried both the heroin addicts at the Nawa Goth graveyard, while Arbab was buried at the Rohri graveyard.

A man, Shahnawaz (65), died of heatstroke while working in his fields in Mirpur Mathelo.

A large number of people fell unconscious in Rohri and Mirpur Mathelo.

Several affected people were admitted in the Civil Hospital Sukkur, while others were taken to the Taluka Hospitals at Mirpur Mathelo, Daharki, and Kandhkot.

Three killed: Three persons were killed after an oil tanker rammed into a stationary truck on the Indus Highway near Bukhshapur, Jacobabad District, on Sunday.

Reports reaching here said a driver, Attaullah Lashari, and a cleaner, Sadaqatullah, were mending a puncture of the tyre of their truck (QAE-1561) when a speedy oil tanker (LSE-7731) dashed against it from rear side.

As a result Lashari, Sadaqatullah and the second driver of the oil tanker, Fazal Malook, were killed on the spot.

The oil tanker driver escaped after the accident leaving behind his vehicle.

Police reached the spot and sent the bodies to the villages of the deceased through Edhi ambulance after autopsy.
