WATER SHORTAGE: Scores of farmers held a demonstration outside the press club here on Friday to protest against the water shortage in the Mehar Minor and the Sanhro Wah of the Kot Diji area.

They told journalists that earlier, they had complained about water shortage to the irrigation officials concerned but to no avail.

They said that due to persistent water shortage for several years, most of their land had remained uncultivated and they were irrigating some of it through tube-wells for which they had to bear heavy expenses.

They demanded provision of water at the tail-end of the channels.
