KARACHI, Sept 18: Larkana, Bahawalpur and Quetta scored convincing victories on Saturday to become champions of their respective regions in the PCB Senior Inter-district Cricket Championship.

Larkana upset the odds to beat a fancied Hyderabad side by 99 runs in the Hyderabad region final at the Niaz Stadium.

Resuming at 61 for three in pursuit of a target of 233, Hyderabad added just 72 runs to be all out for 133. Faisal Qazi top-scored with 44. Spinners Abdul Rahim and Abdul Sattar claimed seven wickets between them.

Bahawalpur lifted the Multan region title when they annihilated Bahawalnagar by a huge margin of 324 runs at the Bahawalpur Stadium.

Bahawalnagar never had the chance to overhaul Bahawalpur's massive total of 511, and were spun out for only 187. Opener Shahid Akram, however, batted defiantly to score 71 off 117 balls. He struck eight fours and one six.

The vastly experienced slow left-armer Mohammad Zahid Senior captured five for 50 in 22.5 overs. His partner-in-crime was leg-spinner Imranullah, who helped himself to four for 58 in 22 overs.

The Quetta region final, played at the Bugti Stadium, was easily won by Quetta. They outclassed Pishin by 162 runs. Chasing 292, Pishin folded up for 129 with paceman Arun Lal taking five for 37. His new-ball partner Abdul Rehman took three for 50.

Earlier on Friday, Quetta made 291. Naseer Khan excelled with a quick knock of 70. His 77-ball innings contained seven fours and five sixes.
