KHAIRPUR, Sept 25: A Karachi-bound passenger bus, coming from Lahore in Punjab, overturned near Khairpur on Saturday, because of which, a person was killed while 11 others were seriously injured.

A Karachi-bound passenger bus overturned near the Shah Hussain chowk, on the National Highway, after going out of control when the driver tried to avoid hitting a cyclist.

A passenger, Juman Gopang, was killed on the spot, while Naveed, Ameer Nawaz, Asif, Roosand Kumar, Mohammad Shahbaz, Mohammad Arif, Abdul Sattar, Saifullah, Mohammad Shah, Aijaz and Natasha sustained critical injuries.

They were admitted to the Khairpur Civil Hospital.

GAS THEFT: A gas theft case was registered on Friday against eight persons, including two women.

Sui Southern Gas Company deputy district billing manager Rajab Ali Jalbani lodged a case with the Kot Diji police, saying that during checking, it was found that the accused were stealing gas.

Ghulam Hussain Talpur, Ghulam Shabbir Mallah, Faiz Mohammad Lashari, Imam Dino Hajano, Ali Raza Solangi, Imam Dino Lashari, and two women, Anwar Janwari and Zarina Janwari, were named in the FIR.

WATER THEFT: The Thari Mirwah police arrested six farmers on Saturday on charge of water theft. They were identified as Ghanwar Qambrani, Ghulam Fareed Qambrani, Mohammad Ali, Hammal, Imdad and Habibullah.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A prisoner, Saleem Solangi, tried to commit suicide in the Faiz Ganj judicial lockup on Thursday evening. He was saved by other prisoners who informed police officials.

Jailer Qalandar Bux on Friday lodged a case with the Faiz Ganj police against the prisoner.
