DADU: Many Dadu areas without power

DADU, Oct 18: The supply of power remained suspended in different parts of Dadu town on Monday affecting supply of water also.

The power supply remained suspended in Moundar Nako, Gharibabad, Noorani chowk, Pir Bux Colony, Charan Mohalla and other areas of the town from 8 am to 6 pm on Monday.

Meanwhile, a large number of residents of affected areas took out a procession against the unannounced loadshedding and staged demonstration. They were led by councillor Mohammad Ali Mughal and Afzal Hussain.

Speaking to the demonstrators, they said that the people were paying monthly bills but Hesco officials were mounting pressure over the consumers to pay them monthly. They alleged that on refusal, Hesco officials were suspending their power supply.

They appealed to the federal minister for Water and Power to direct the Hesco officials to stop unannounced load-shedding during the holy month of Ramazan.

CLASH: Five persons including two women were injured in an armed clash between two groups of residents of Thallho village in Khairpur Nathan Shah taluka on Sunday over right to pass through a street.

Dur Mohammad, Mohammad Yousuf, Mohammad Hassan, Ms Sohni and Ms Kunwari sustained bullet injuries and were admitted to the taluka hospital in Khairpur Nathan Shah later.
