MANDI BAHAUDDIN, Oct 19: Punjab Tourism Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal distributed appointment letters among teachers here on Tuesday at the community centre.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the Punjab government had increased annual education budget from Rs7 billion to Rs9 billion this year and on-merit appointment of educators throughout the province showed the commitment of the chief minister in this respect.

DCO Abdus Sattar, MPAs Fazal Ahmed, Muhammad Arif, district Naib Nazim Haji Imtiaz Ahmed, education EDO Muhammad Yousaf Awan and others were also present on the occasion.

CAR LIFTED: A police officer's car was lifted here on Tuesday afternoon from the Saddar Bazaar.

Reports said ASI Muhammad Nawaz parked his car (5718) outside the Noor market. After some time he found the vehicle missing. Three cars had been driven away from the same spot during the last 10 days.
