HYDERABAD, Oct 20: Authorities of the Sindh University have extended date for receipt of admission forms for bachelors and postgraduate programmes to October 21.

The date has been extended on the request of students and parents received through telephone calls.

Director (admissions) of the university Mohammad Saleh Rajar, in a notification issued here on Tuesday said that forms for admission on merit, self-finance scheme and sports quota were available at the Jamshoro and Old Campus (Hyderabad) branches of the Habib Bank on payment of prescribed fee.

He said that the forms with required documents must be personally deposited by the candidates at the counters set up by the directorate of admissions at administration block of the university. He added that directorate would be working from 7:30am to 5pm on October 21.

BOOKS DONATED: The embassy of the United States of America has donated 48 books on literature, biography and other subjects to the University of Sindh for its central library.

A formal book presentation ceremony will be held on Thursday (today) at Allama I.I. Kazi Central Library in the Jamshoro campus.

Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, the deans of faculties, heads of departments and institutes, senior professors and students will attend the ceremony.

MUET CONVOCATION: The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology has announced that its convocation will be held on December 28 at 10am in the university auditorium.

The Sindh governor/chancellor of the university has consented to preside over the convocation.

The graduates and postgraduates of the university/affiliated colleges desiring to get BE/BCRP (2K-batch), BArch (99-batch), BTech (pass/honours), BSc (Ind. Technology) and ME/MPhil/PhD degrees should apply to the controller of examination of the university on prescribed application form.

The form can be personally collected free of cost from the service counter of the examinations department on working days or by sending a self-addressed and stamped envelop.

Last date for receiving the forms is November 20.

Meritorious graduates of the said batches (top of faculty/best graduate/position holders) who have already received degrees in absentia and are entitled for the award of gold/silver medals or merit certificates must also apply on the same application form with payment of fee indicated therein.

The recipients have been allowed to invite one of their parents or family members to the convocation.

The recipients are required to attend rehearsal in the university auditorium on December 27 at 10am.
