GUJRANWALA, Oct 25: Industrial workers continued their protest here on Monday against the privatization of social security department.
Reports said scores of factory worker gathered on the GT Road near the local social security hospital and set up a protest camp hoisting banners and placards inscribed with the anti-government slogans. Speaking at the occasion, labour leaders Naseeruddin Humayun Malik, Mian Ghulam Rasul, Mian Ataur Rehman, Sahibzada Hatim Saeed and others criticized the government for allegedly implementing the IMF and World Bank agenda.
They said the government wanted to deprive thousands of factory workers of health and education facilities.
ADJOURNED: The anti-terrorism court No.1 on Monday adjourned the circus fire case till Nov 2. The case was registered against 200 activists of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, including MNA Mufti Ghulam Farid Hazarvi and Jamat-i-Islami senior vice-president Hafiz Hameeduddin Awan.
Judge Mujahid Mustaqim adjourned the case when a prosecution witness could not identify the accused.

Meanwhile, raiding teams of the district administration caught more than 100 shopkeepers red-handed for overcharging and recovered fine totalling Rs50,000.
