SAHIWAL, Oct 27: On the orders of Additional District and Sessions Judge Hamid Hussain Shah, Farid Town police on Wednesday registered a case against its SHO, two constables and a citizen for illegally detaining and torturing a person.

Reports said SHO Inspector Barkat Ali, two constables and Mirza Abdul Ghani during a raid arrested an old woman, Zubaida Bashir, and her sons Mudassar Bashir and Zaigham Bashir.

The police officials allegedly tortured Mudassar and forcibly got his signature on an agreement regarding a property dispute.

On his failure to get a case registered against the police, Mudassar approached the court on which the AD&SJ ordered registration of a case.

HASHISH RECOVERED: Police arrested a drug pusher and recovered 150 kilograms of hashish from his possession here on Tuesday night.

On a tip-off, Noorshah police raided Chak 73/4-R and recovered 30 kilograms of charas from Asghar Noti. On his information, the police raided his house in Bhuttongar Colony, Sahiwal and seized 120kg charas.

The police got his 10-day physical remand after registration of three cases under 9-B Narcotics Control Ordinance.

ARRESTED: Fateh Sher police on Wednesday arrested four out of six female bandits allegedly involved in looting the house of a lady councillor.

Reports said the female dacoits entered the house of Rashida in Tariq Bin Zaid Colony and made off with cash worth Rs7,000, and ornaments valuing Rs50,000.

The bandits were identified as Najma, Chanda, Sakeena and Ulfat Bibi.

JUDICIAL REMAND: Police on Wednesday sent 10 accused for firing and pelting stones on a seminary to central jail on 14-day judicial remand.

The police also recovered a rifle from the possession of accused Muhammad Bilal.

The accused were identified as Muhammad Bilal, Nisar Ahmad, Hamid Mahmood, Ibrar Ahmed, Nadir Khan, Rana Naveed, Imran, Ammar Sattar, Abbas and Hafiz Muhammad Abid.
