RAWALPINDI: Two get 3-year RI

RAWALPINDI, Oct 28: Addition District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Iqbal here on Thursday awarded three-year rigorous imprisonment to two persons involved in drug-trafficking.

The court also imposed a Rs5,000 fine each on the convicts. The prosecution had contended before the court that Airport police had seized two kilograms of charas from the convicts.

Meanwhile, Civil Judge Javid Iqbal awarded four years of rigorous imprisonment to a man, Khan Abdul, for committing a robbery and possessing illegal weapons in the jurisdiction of RA Bazaar police station.

Similarly, Civil Judge Amjid Iqbal awarded four years of rigorous imprisonment each to two persons, Sajjad and Khalid, for making a murder attempt in the jurisdiction of Airport police station.

The court also imposed a Rs10,000 fine each on both the convicts. In default of the payment, they would have to undergo an additional six months of jail-term.
