MINGORA, Oct 30: The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) has expressed its deep concern over the increasing rates of daily use commodities, and demanded of the government to materialize its announcements about the increase in pay and pension.
In a statement here on Saturday, APCA President Fazal Mabood Khan said that the prices of daily use commodities had been increasing with each passing day and the employees were unable to meet the two ends meet, but the government was not taking practical steps for their welfare.
He said that the profiteers and hoarders had been fleecing the poor consumers with no check by the government.
In the past, he said, successive governments had formed committees and assigned duties to the authorities for having a check and balance on the rates in the markets, but at present neither the provincial nor the local governments had done anything. As a result, he added, the poor employees were the actual sufferers.
The APCA leader warned that in case the government failed to provide relief to the nation the people would have no other option but to come out on the streets.
