HYDERABAD, Nov 1: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, announced the results of Higher Secondary Certificate-I (class-XI) annual examinations of general science, pre-medical and pre-engineering groups on Monday.

According to the results, 434 candidates appeared in the general science group examinations, out of whom 168 were declared successful in six papers.

The results of 13 candidates have been withheld for one or the other reason.

In pre-engineering group, 7,922 candidates appeared in the examinations out of whom only 3,952 candidates were declared successful in six papers.

The results of 270 candidates have been withheld by the conduct branch and those of 50 candidates have been withheld on charge of cheating in the examination.

In pre-medical group, 16,456 candidates appeared in the examinations out of which only 7,142 were declared successful.

The results of 392 candidates have been withheld by the conduct branch and those of 90 candidates on charge of cheating.

DEMO: A group of students of Government Degree College, Latifabad, staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Monday to protest against alleged excesses of the APMSO activists.

Talking to newsmen, they alleged that activists of the All Pakistan Mohajir Students' Organization activists unleashed a reign of terror in the college to harass the Islami Jamiat Tulba members.

They warned that if the authorities did not take notice of the matter, the Islami Jamiat Tulba activists would be forced to retaliate.

SPSC: The Sindh Public Service Commission, Hyderabad, has announced the results of examinations for recruitment to the post of assistant engineer (civil) in the works and services department.

The Sindh Public Service Commission also announced the results of typing and shorthand test for recruitment to posts of senior and junior scale stenographers in the services and general administer department.
