SAHIWAL: Woman, 7 children kidnapped

SAHIWAL, Nov 2: Four gunmen kidnapped a woman and her seven children from Chak 185/9-L here on Monday. Police said Sajjad Safdar had gone to Faisalabad in connection with his job.

In his absence the gunmen, identified as Javed, Rashid Iqbal, Noor Nabi and an unidentified woman, kidnapped Sajjad's wife Safia and their children - Shoaib, 17, Salma, 15, Saifur Rehman, 12, Umm Saeed, 10, Muhammad Ahmad, 9, Aisha, 7 and Ruqayya, 4.

They also took away valuables worth Rs90,000 from the house.

Dera Rahim police have registered a case under Hudood laws with no recovery of the kidnapped people or arrest of the kidnappers.

NOMINATED: MPA Jalal Din Dhakkoo and Pir Walayat Shah Khagga have been nominated as district president and general secretary of the PML respectively.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting presided over by Agriculture Minister and Punjab PML secretary Arshad Lodhi here on Tuesday.

Pir Walayat was nominated as secretary as the office fell vacant due to the death of Latif Moghal.
