FAISALABAD, Nov 3: A local court directed the police to register a case against 10 policemen, including Rodala police post in-charge, for trespassing on a house, torturing inmates and detaining a senior auditor here on Wednesday.

Reports said senior auditor Muhammad Amin lodged a complaint with the district and sessions judge claiming that a police team headed by ASI Muhammad Farooq barged into his house on Oct 26. He alleged that the policemen tortured his family members and took him to the police station where he was detained for a day.

He further alleged that he was neither involved in criminal activity or wanted in any case but the police treated him like terrorists. He was freed after the intervention of notable villagers.

The DSJ taking serious notice of the incident ordered for the immediate registration of a case against ASIs Farooq and Nazeer, and constables Saleem, Munawar, Imtiaz, Nazar, Riaz, Umer Draz, Ahmed Ali, and Hidayatullah.

DEPRIVED: Unknown fashionable girls deprived housewives of cash, ornaments and other valuables during two broad daylight dacoity incidents here on Wednesday.

Two girls along with their male accomplice entered the house of Zarar Hussain at Chak 120-JB of Nishatabad and requested for some water. As the housewife brought the water, the girls overpowered and intoxicated her. In the meantime, all the three accused collected Rs80,000 in cash and valuables and escaped.

Another two girls relieved Naheed Akhtar of cash and ornaments in Samanabad in the limits of Factory Area police station.

ATTACKED: A group of armed men headed by a food inspector allegedly attacked office-holders of Faisalabad Karyana Merchants Association and threatened them with dire consequences in the district courts here on Wednesday.

Abdul Hafeez Bhalla, FKMA chief, lodged a complaint with the police that he along with other office-bearers Mehr Maqsood, Mehboob and Aslam appeared before court in connection with a case pending against food inspector Abdul Qayyum and his accomplices.

He claimed that Qayyum and his accomplices attacked trade leaders, tortured them also threatened them with dire consequences. He demanded of the police to register a case against the accused.

ELECTROCUTED: A labourer was electrocuted when he touched an iron pole which was electrified near Railway station here on Wednesday.

Nasarullah, a daily wage earner, was working at an under-construction plaza when the incident occurred.
