Published November 5, 2004

ISLAMABAD, Nov 4: NCR Corporation has become the first company in Pakistan that has achieved level 5 of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM), the highest maturity level for any software process , for its professional services organization.

This was said by Syed Vaqarul Islam, NCR Managing Director for Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh here on Thursday.

The CMM, regarded as the de facto standard for any organization engaged in providing professional services around the world, developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Melon University, provides a framework for organizing small evolutionary steps into five maturity levels that support continuous software process improvements.

"With great management support, leading-edge process and technology assets, empowered associates and the drive to be the best in the world, NCR has achieved CMM level 5, said Ron Weidemann, SEI Authorized CMM Lead Assessor.

Commenting on the assessment, Mr Vaqar said this achievement was unique and truly establishes NCR as an organization par excellence in Pakistan.
