SIALKOT, Nov 4: The district government has announced provision of metal detectors to management committees of all mosques and imambargahs through the citizens community boards (CCBs).

This was stated by district Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid while addressing the District Peace Committee meeting here on Thursday.

He said the CCBs would provide 80 per cent funds for purchase of metal detectors.

He said the district government had chalked out a foolproof plan to avert any untoward incident as security at all mosques, imambargahs, churches, religious seminaries and other important public places had further been tightened.

On this occasion, ulema belonging to all schools of thought assured their full co-operation for promoting sectarian harmony.

STRIKE: Fertilizers' dealers observed complete strike on Thursday in Narowal district against heavy fines levied on them by the district government for their alleged overcharging.

Fertilizers Association President Rana Tanvir Ahmad and Secretary-General Barkat Ahmad have urged the government to take measures for the solution of their problems.
