PESHAWAR, Nov 4: Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who was declared elected on Wednesday, secured around 80 per cent of the approximately 569,000 valid votes in Pakistan, a press release said.
According to the International Organization of Migration (IOM), which conducted election in Pakistan for the Afghan presidential slot, said Mr Karzai secured 80 per cent votes among the refugees in the country.
The organization had registered about 700,000 refugee voters in Pakistan.
The release said the organization would close down its out-of-country programme and hand over the equipment to the Afghan government.
