Farhan helps KB restrict Sialkot lead

KARACHI, Nov 6: Farhan Adil hit a superb unbeaten 127 to help Karachi Blues restrict Sialkot's first innings lead to just 19 runs on the third day of their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match against Sialkot at the National Stadium on Saturday.

When play ended for the day Sialkot were 223 for five in their second innings, enjoying an overall lead of 242.

Opener Sufyan Munir hammered a century in Sialkot's second innings after surviving a dropped catch on 38. He hit 15 boundaries during his 260-minute innings.

Responding to Sialkot's first innings total of 300, Karachi Blues were dismissed for 281 after resuming at their overnight score of 208 for seven.

Farhan hit 18 boundaries in his 241-ball knock in a stay of 344 minutes.

Test speedster Mohammad Sami used the long handle to score 48 while helping Farhan add 130 for the eighth-wicket. Sami hit seven fours before being bowled by left-arm paceman Zahid Saeed.

Pace bowler Mohammad Asif ended up with figures of five for 90 in 31.1 overs.
