SAHIWAL: Five POs arrested

SAHIWAL, Nov 10: Pakpattan police claimed to have arrested five proclaimed offenders during an operation at Sutlej Delta on Tuesday night.

The police party comprised ASP Zubair Dareshak, DSP Habib Ghuman, five SHOs and the Allied Force, headed by DPO Ahmed Mobeen Syed.

The operation was launched after a dacoity incident at Marla Chowk in Qubula police limits.

According to the DPO, the arrested POs were wanted in various cases.

They were identified as Nazir s/o Ahmed Yar, Iqbal s/o Nazir Ahmed Joiya, Sarwar s/o Nazir Ahmed Wattoo, Yousaf and Noor Ahmed.

BOOKED: On the orders of the district and sessions judge, Farid Town police on Tuesday registered a case of sodomy against two youths and a police sub-inspector.

Reports said Muhammad Abid and Ayyaz kidnapped Wiqar Husain, aged 13, from Kot Khadim Ali Shah. They intoxicated the boy and sodomized him and latter handed him to Kot Khadim Ali Shah police post incharge, SI Rehmat Ali.

Rehmat kept the boy in illegal custody and then approached the court of judicial magistrate for physical remand of the boy as suspect in a theft case under section 54 of CrPC. However, Waqar informed the court about the actual happening.

The court learnt through the medical report that the boy's claim was true after which the judge ordered registration of a case.

Meanwhile, Civil Lines police registered a case against five police drivers for obtaining employment on fake licences in.

Ali Irfan, Ghulam Abbas, Israrul Haq, Muhammad Ilyas and Khalid Husain were arrested for producing fake licences.
