ISLAMABAD, Feb 5: Pakistan will remain under the burden of overpopulation in the future as out of the country's estimated 151.1 million population, 33.59 million women are in the reproductive age , according to figures issued by the Family Planning Association of Pakistan (FPAP) on Saturday.

The depleting resources have already proven insufficient for the present population - a big chunk of which is already living below poverty line - said the report.

The figures showed that 50.60 million people - 33.49 per cent of the population - were living in the urban areas while 100.50 million people - 66.51 per cent - lived in the rural areas.

There were 78.45 million males who constituted 51.92 per cent of the total population as compared to 72.65 million women; 48.08 per cent of the population.
