GUJRANWALA, Feb 7: District Nazim Fiaz Ahmad Chattha has laid the foundation stone of a trauma centre at the DHQ Hospital here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the District Nazim said that an emergency operation theatre, two wards for male and female and the deputy medical superintendent office would be built at the trauma centre.

He said the patients would also be provided with the facility of radiology, ultra sound, X-Ray and a laboratory with latest equipment.

A sum of Rs20 million would be spent on the construction of the trauma centre which would be completed in the stipulated period, he said.

The district government, he said, wanted to construct trauma centres at the THQ Hospitals with the cooperation of citizen community boards.

DCO Fazeel Asgher, DHQ medical superintendent Dr Nisar Ahmad Cheema, EDO (Health) Dr Zafer Iqbal Niazi and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

Briefing the District Nazim and DCO, the MS said the process of upgradation of the DHQ Hospital had been started with the construction of trauma centre.

He expressed the hope that Punjab government and health ministry would appoint more doctors and paramedical staff at the DHQ Hospital in accordance with the approved strength.
