KHAIRPUR: Light rain coupled with cold wave continued in this part of the region for the second day on Wednesday, resulting in an increase in the cold spell.

The rain led to suspension of power supply for about 15 hours, because of which, telephone exchanges in Hingorja, Sobhodero, Pucca Chang and Thari Mirwah remained inoperative. Many schools remained closed while marriage ceremonies had to be postponed. Moreover, some 15 houses collapsed in the kutchi abadis of the district.
