LAHORE, April 26: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Tuesday announced a revised list of 29 players, which also included the name of Sohail Abbas, for the training camp for the next month’s Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament in Malaysia.

The camp will resume from April 28 at the Hockey Club of Pakistan, said a PHF press release.

“On the team management’s recommendations we have dropped Sameer Hussain, Waheed-ul-Islam, Rizwan Butt and Naeem Akbar and included Shahid Waseem, Tariq and Waqas,” it said.

Sohail Abbas and Waseem Ahmad had announced retirement after the last year’s Champions Trophy in Lahore. But, the federation had successfully convinced the two to withdraw their decision. However, the revised list makes no mention of Waseem.

Revised list: Salamn Akbar, Ghzanfar Ali, Aqeel Khan, Saleem Khalid, Amanullah, Gohar Rasool, Rehan Butt, Zakirullah, Mudassar Ali Khan, Waqas Rabbani, Shabbir Hussain, Rashad Yaqoob, Sami, Zeeshan, Zeeshan Ashraf, Adnan Maqsood, Muhammad Saqlain, Tariq Yameen, Kashif Jawwad, Sohail Abbas, Aamir Shahzad, Dilawar Hussain, Mukhtar, Asim, Moazzam, Ihsanullah, Mazhar, Tariq, Shahid Waseem.
