KARACHI, April 29: The Managing Director of the Oxford University Press (OUP), Pakistan, Ms. Ameena Saiyid, has been awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE).

The OBE was conferred on her at a ceremony held at the residence of the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Mark Lyall Grant.

A statement on Friday said the OBE has been awarded to Ms. Saiyid for her services to Anglo-Pakistan relations, women’s rights, education and intellectual property rights in Pakistan.

It said with this she becomes the first woman in Pakistan to be conferred the OBE.—APP
